Major Milestones Achieved: Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor Project Gathers Steam as HRIDC Organizes Technical Seminar on Viaduct Construction

The ambitious Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) project which is a 126 km new double-line Rail project from Palwal to Sonipat ( via Sohna&Kharkhoda)  has gathered steam. The contract for the earthwork and bridges, between Dhulawat and Badsa have been awarded by HRIDC on 06.04.2023. The tender for the construction of the 4. 7km twin HORC tunnel in Nuh has been opened in Feb -2023 and the contractor will be selected shortly.

To take the project further, a technical seminar on HORC viaduct was organized by HRIDC on 26.04.2023 wherein senior officials from the Ministry of Railways, RVNL, IRCON International, NCRTC, and experts from trade and industry participated. The HORC viaduct in Sohna/Nuh region is 3.5 km long with a maximum height of 25 m posing significant engineering challenges.

In the seminar HRIDCL officials held extensive discussions on the latest technologies for viaduct construction and the likely challenges to be faced during the execution of work with the representatives of the companies, sources said. Rajesh Aggarwal, Managing Director, HRIDCL stated that the tenders for the viaduct will be floated after the finalization of all technical parameters of the viaduct. The contract is likely to be awarded by Dec 2023 and construction of the viaduct completed by Dec 2026.
