Mumbai:Actor Kranti Prakash Jha recently took to Instagram to express his anguish over the shocking murder of a 21 year old Bihari boy, an incident that has sparked widespread outrage and conversations around regional discrimination in India. As per reports, the young man had moved away from home to work and earn a living when he was allegedly shot after revealing that he was from Bihar. The incident has left many deeply disturbed, raising concerns over growing intolerance and bias faced by migrant communities.
Addressing the nation through an emotional video, Kranti Prakash Jha said, “Namaskar, my name is Kranti Prakash Jha and this message is for everyone, everyone who is an Indian.I have also been seeing and feeling this stereotypical image since my college days.Generally, the standards of right and wrong are different for everyone. But some wrongs are just wrong. It can never be right. There is a society where everyone has their own right and their own wrong. And this very society has made a whole community, a whole state, so wrong that they are no longer human but just an identity. It is very disheartening. How can anyone do this?At times, people made fun by calling a Bihari. At times, people abused. And I wish this was the end of it.Now people ask and shoot saying that you ate from Bihar.Just a few days ago, a 21 year old innocent boy, just 21 years old, no history, no mistakes, he was away from home, he was working, he came to work hard, he was making a living.
Suddenly, someone asked him, are you from Bihar? He said yes. The person in front of him got angry, he shot him and that’s it.Being a Bihari is not a joke, it is an effort. These are the same people who leave their farms and grow food in your farms. These are the same people who leave their farms and make your city. They make your life easier. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, their sweat flows in every effort. And being a Bihari is courage because every Bihari has the ability to turn any adversity into favorability. Okay, don’t praise, but don’t hate so much that your anger kills someone. No, this one bullet has not killed just one person. This one bullet has hurt the self esteem of every person who wants to do something by living in this country with his hard work.We have to ask ourselves what kind of society we want to create or see, where a person is not just a person but an identity. We are in a journey, don’t test us anymore. We are helpless, don’t harass us anymore. So what if we are away from home, don’t divide us in your own country.I request all the people of Bihar that you may not know us well, but we are your life partners. You are our life partners because you have God in you and we have God in us. I would like to say to all the people who are watching this video that I wish you all the best.Live & let live.Thank you so much.”
Kranti’s heartfelt statement has resonated with many online, with netizens appreciating him for speaking up against hate, prejudice, and violence while calling for unity, dignity, and compassion across the country.
